Several chances to get to know the candidates prior to election day

PRINCE GEORGE — There will be several chances to get to know the candidates prior to local elections scheduled for October 15.

Your first opportunity will be tomorrow night, when CKPG-TV will air its “Meet The Candidates Special” at 7 p.m. CKPG interviewed all six mayoral candidates: Terri McConachie, Roy Stewart, Simon Yu, Adam Hyatt, Lisa Mitchell, and Christopher Wood.

CKPG news also interviewed all 20 council candidates, that special entitled “Meet the Council Candidates,” will air Friday night at 7 p.m on CKPG-TV.

Here’s the list of other candidate forums and debates:

  • Sept.27 at 5:30 p.m. – Sustainability Debate – UNBC, Canfor Theatre and online
  • Sept.28 at 6:30 p.m. – Mayoral Forum – Prince George Public Library and online
  • Sept. 28 at 6:30 p.m. – Trustee candidate forum – Vanier Hall
  • Oct. 3 at 6 p.m. – Debate – UNBC, Canfor Theatre and online
  • Oct. 5 at 6:30 p.m. – Prince George Public Library and online
  • Oct.11 at 6 p.m. – All Candidates Forum on Poverty, Homelessness and the Drug Poisoning Cris – Omineca Arts Centre and online

Advance polling dates in Prince George take place October 5,6,11 and 12.

General Election Day is scheduled for Saturday, October 15.
