City Council Candidate wants crackdown on Homelessness

Prince George native, Paul Serup, is no stranger to the housing crisis gripping the downtown core.

“It’s blight on the city… and it’s not good for the homeless individually” -Paul Serup

Paul Serup’s city council campaign is focused on tackling widespread homelessness and rampant illicit drug use in the downtown core, starting with the immediate relocation of addicts and those experiencing housing instability, to a more remote location within city limits.

“We would use all the tools in our toolbox to move the homeless to a more remote location in the city. They would be out of sight but not out of mind.” -Paul Serup

Mr. Serup says compassion is key, and by getting to know the individuals in the new homeless encampment, the city can begin to identify the underlying causes that lead to homelessness and work on solutions to deal with the crisis.
