RCMP seeking information following highway fatality

DAWSON CREEK — One person is dead following a head-on crash on Highway 2 near the 800-block (near Dawson Creek Airport Road) last night (Dec.15).

RCMP say it happened at around 5:40 p.m. with police arriving on scene to find a GMC pickup truck extensively damaged and a semi-truck that remained on the scene.

“Unfortunately, one male was pronounced deceased at the scene,” says Cst. Clyde Feero of Northern Highway Patrol. “Dawson Creek are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a white B-train Freightliner tractor trailer with a tarped load of OSB (plywood) possibly heading eastbound toward Alberta.”
