RCMP arrest man with knife near elementary school

PRINCE GEORGE — Local Mounties arrested a man with a knife near Peden Hill Elementary today.

Prince George RCMP say that just before 2:30 p.m., police received a report of a man walking on Range Road near Wiebe Road who had a long knife in his hand.

“A witness stated he heard the man uttering threats to harm two people. Police officers immediately flooded the area as the suspect was close to an elementary school and it was near the end of the school day,” says Cpl. Jennifer Cooper.

“Police located and arrested the suspect within 12 minutes of receiving the complaint. The man, who is known to police, was found to be breaching a release order at the time of his arrest.”
