Student housing it is

PRINCE GEORGE – Council has denied an application for the southernmost end of Ospika Boulevard.

The original application goes for as far back as 2021, when the proposal was for 256 units of student housing.

There were a number of changes made to the project, such as variances to the height of the building.

But most recently, the developer has come to Council seeking to re-purpose the project to make way for 118 units of seniors housing.

“This location does not meet the needs of seniors,” noted Councillor Garth Frizzell.

It was Councillor Cori Ramsay who noted that a covenant is a covenant, adding the community is desperate for student housing.
