McLeod Lake fires back at teachers over SD57 board meeting comments
PRINCE GEORGE – The McLeod Lake Indian Band has fired back at the PG District Teachers Association (PGDTA) after a heated exchange at the SD57 Board of Education regular meeting held on January 31 resulted in a follow-up letter.
The exchange saw Daryl Beauregard the PGDTA President give a presentation about the effects of alleged anti-SOGI comments made at a previous public meeting, and the opening prayer by the SD57 Board of Education being non-inclusive. Weber responded by telling Beauregard to “get [his] facts straight”.
Chief Harley Chingee said in a letter he was ‘disheartened’ by comments made by the PGDTA President at the regular board meeting and in Beauregard’s follow-up letter. Chingee added he stands behind the actions of SD57 Board Chair Rachael Weber in her response to the alleged anti-SOGI comments.
