Police investigating early morning shooting in Fort St. James

FORT ST JAMES — RCMP are investigating an early morning shooting in Fort St James.

Police say that they were called to a home on Lower Road, and after arriving on scene, officers discovered a man, inside his home, had been shot and needed medical treatment. Investigators responded and determined that the gun shots had originated from the street outside the home and that multiple shots were fired at the home.

After canvassing the neighbourhood and hearing reports from people about hearing gunshots, no suspect(s) have currently been identified. Police say that while they do not believe this shooting to be random, it is felt that the victim may not have been the intended target.

The victim received medical treatment and his injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
