Minor charged in death of Chetwynd woman

CHETWYND — A charge of second-degree murder has been laid against a juvenile after a woman was found dead in Chetwynd.

The B-C Prosecution Service confirms the charge and says the youth, who can’t be identified because of their age, remains in custody and is due to appear in court in Williams Lake tomorrow.

The victim, a 57-year-old woman, was found in a home near the East Pine area of Chetwynd on Monday.

No other details of the case have been released, although investigators want to speak to anyone who may have information about the killing.
