PRINCE GEORGE– Ethan Reimer has gone through a lot as a kid. He was born with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome. A birth defect that affects normal blood flow through the heart. As a result, it’s been a tough time for Ethan and his family, who spend a lot of time heading back and forth to the Lower Mainland.

“He’s had a few surgeries since then. He’s had three open heart surgeries, multiple cath procedures, some diagnostic, some to try and correct things. Some of them work, some of them haven’t.” – Justin Reimer, Ethan’s Father

As a result the Timberwolves Student Athlete society named Ethan MVP of the month. And after President Anthony Preston spent some time with the toddler he knew they made the right choice.

“Just an amazing kid. Just so happy, full of life. Honestly, the best words describe him as brave. Speaking with the parents, all that he’s gone through and just to see him come down in this new environment with new people, just take it all in his stride is just unbelievable. I definitely am proud to be supporting him. I think that our whole club and community can really get behind him and his family.” – Anthony Preston, President, Timberwolves Student Athlete Society

For Ethan’s family, it’s been a tough process watching their son go through multiple tests and surgeries all at a young age. However his father Justin couldn’t be more proud of his son for fighting through it and cooperating with doctors. All with a smile on his face.

“The respect he shows and how courteous he is with the doctors, even though they’re poking and prodding him and doing all the stuff that he doesn’t want to do. It’s incredible to see him push through all that. He’s a very, very strong kid. And I couldn’t be more proud. He’s my hero, of course.” – Justin Reimer, Ethan’s Father

Timberwolves athletes will host multiple fundraisers with all funds going towards Reimer’s expenses as well as promoting the GoFundMe page which you can find HERE. A special bottle drive on March 25th and 26th will take place at Art Knapps to help with fundraising.
