Crews respond to fire at Mocassin Flats

PRINCE GEORGE – Emergency crews responded to the scene of a tent fire at Mocassin Flats downtown Prince George Tuesday afternoon.

The fire destroyed a tent and some belongings on the west edge of the encampment causing an estimated $1,500 in damage.

Crews responded to the blaze at 12:07 PM Tuesday.

PG Fire-Rescue confirmed at the scene there were no injuries sustained and the blaze was brought under control very quickly.

There were no occupants inside the tent during the incident, the cause is still under investigation.
