DAWSON CREEK — A new driver is facing a fine and three penalty points after being clocked driving at 169 km/h in a posted 100 km/h speed zone.
The offence occurred April 2 in the Dawson Creek and Fort St John area.
“The posted speed limits serve as a reminder to the public to slow down and that exceeding these posted limits puts themselves and others at risk,” says BC Highway Patrol Officer Matthew MacCallum.
The ticket will cost the new driver $483 and his vehicle will be impounded for seven days.
