Weekend fire causes $50K in damages

PRINCE GEORGE — Prince George Fire Rescue says a structure fire on the 300 block of Wainwright street over the weekend caused $50,000 in damages.

It broke out just before 2:30 p.m. Sunday with three fire halls responding.

On arrival, crews found a residence filled with smoke. A rapid response team limited the damage to the building and kept it contained to the room of origin.

There were no injuries and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
