RCMP: Downtown death not a homicide

PRINCE GEORGE — Prince George RCMP have provided an update on their suspicious death investigation from earlier this week.
It’s related to a body that was located inside a tent on the 2000-block of First Avenue on Friday, June 9. Police arrived on scene to find a body in an advanced stage of decomposition.
“Investigators have concluded this death was not the result of a homicide. Our Serious Crime Unit has concluded their part of the investigation and have turned it over to the B.C. Coroners Service, who will maintain their own investigation,” states Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer for the Prince George RCMP. “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the victim.
