Cariboo Rocks the North to look a little different this year

Jun 29, 2023 | 2:01 PM

PRINCE GEORGE — Cariboo Rocks the North will be coming to town in just over a month and the preparations are well under way.

Cariboo Rocks the North is the much awaited 3-day event that will be taking place from August 11th to the 13th and this year there have been some changes.

“We looked at people’s comments and suggestions about last year and one of their biggest concerns was looking into the sunshine, which is great. We had lots of sunshine. So we’ve moved the stage position back to where it was in 2018 and 2019, which is on the south side of the gymnastics club, and that will help rectify people’s concerns about looking at the sunshine and we’re making some other tweaks to the setup.” – Glen Mikkelsen, Manager, Entertainment, CN Centre

11 bands will be performing this year, including some notable names such as Teaze, Streetheart, Kim Mitchell, Chilliwack, Powder Blues, April Wine and more.

This event not only provides a fun entertainment experience, but is also a good branding opportunity for Prince George.

“We love events like this because it brings people to Prince George for a specific amount of time. Maybe these are people that are already planning a trip to Prince George. We can really leverage these types of events to make sure that Prince George does a really good job and show the great community we have for events like this.” – Colin Carson, CEO, Tourism PG

Tickets for Cariboo Rocks the North are on sale and available at ticketsnorth.ca.
