PRINCE GEORGE – The President of the Board for Downtown Prince George, Eoin Foley is calling the $10.5 million Securing Small Business Rebate Program a “band aid.” A businessman himself, he says the envelope of money doesn’t address the root of the cause, which is homelessness, mental health and addictions.

“And homelessness, drug addiction, the mental illness crisis that we’re facing in our province and much greater across the country. And that it’s kind of recognition that they’re really not doing anything to address the root causes or at least not doing anywhere nearly enough to do it. And they’re, you know, just kind of throwing a bone to small business and saying like, hey, look, we know you’re hurting a little bit and here’s a little bit of money to maybe ease the pain a bit.”
