Game Preview: Kamloops Broncos vs Prince George Kodiaks

Aug 18, 2023 | 11:16 AM

PRINCE GEORGE — The Prince George Kodiaks took to the field once again this week. As they prepare to take on a team in a similar situation as them, the Kamloops Broncos. Both teams enter Saturday with an 0-2 record. Both teams have faced the Okanagan Sun and the Westshore Rebels. Even though it’s early in the season, the organization feels like this is a must-win game.

After dropping last week’s game to the Westshore Rebels, the goal was to find some positives. One of them was the run game where the Kodiaks racked up 163 yards on the ground and averaged 7.8 yards per carry.

Another plan the Kodiaks will try to put into motion this week is to have a set quarterback. After Sam Sabine and Quinn Neukomm rotated drives in the first two games of the season, the team will be operating to have a single man under center come Saturday.

The Kodiak’s biggest challenge will be stopping Broncos receiver, Colton Meikle. The Kamloops native already has over 200 yards and two touchdowns on the year and last year he torched the Kodiaks in the three games he played against them.

Kickoff is set for this Saturday at 7:00 PM with the first 400 fans through the gates receiving a Kodiaks wristband, compliments of Prestige Treasure Cove.
