Explosion victim to be transferred out of ICU

VANCOUVER — The city of Prince George worker badly injured in last week’s downtown explosion and fire is being transferred from the ICU to the burn unit in Vancouver.

In a Facebook post, a friend of Victoria Mcgivern says her medical team is optimistic that she’ll be able to come home very soon though that will be dependent on hospital bed availability in Prince George.

As of Monday morning, a gofundmepage has helped raise more than $85,000 for Victoria to help with things like travel, accommodations, future therapies and child care.

The investigation into the explosion is ongoing with local Mounties canvassing locals for video footage.
