Evacuation order issued for vicinity of Bugle Lake, Tureen Lake, and Mole Lake

PRINCE GEORGE — An evacuation order has been issued by the Regional District of Fraser-Fort George in the vicinity of Bugle Lake, Tureen Lake, and Mole Lake due to the Great Beaver Lake Wildfire.

The order was issued by the regional district Sunday, September 3 at 5 pm, and this is not the first time an evacuation order has been issued for this area. On July 12, an order was issued, but was later rescinded on July 25, however an alert remained in effect.

The Great Beaver Lake wildfire is one of five wildfires of notes in the Prince George Fire Centre. The fire’s estimated size is 10,797 hectares and is out of control.

The BC Wildfire Service says that “the 1500 Road FSR and the Teardrop (400 road) and Teardrop Muskeg Road have been heavily impacted by fire behaviour. BC Wildfire Service personnel will be operating fire suppression activities on or near the roads and request that member of the public refrain from using the roads impacted by this incident for all non emergency purposes.”
