Zucchini festival back at Art Knapps after time away

Prince George – With a weekend full of events coming up, it’s hard to know where to go. But the zucchini fest at Art Knapps could be a great place to start. Zucchini’s may look like a bland vegetable, but that’s just not the case. You can do a lot with them, and this weekend they’re the star of the show after a few years away.

“We started about 40 years ago. A long time ago. You know, at one point, we had 460 entries, believe it or not. And we thought it’s time again to revamp it.”

If you can’t grow the biggest zucchini, no worries, there’s other categories to choose from.

“There are different categories. There is the biggest in zucchini, the best-dressed zucchini, the best relish recipe, and the best loaf. So, there are four, or five categories. The first prize is a $100 gift certificate. The second price is a $50 gift certificate and the third price is a $25 gift certificate in each category.”
