RCMP issue safety tips for those traveling with firearms
PRINCE GEORGE — Police say hunters and firearms enthusiasts who stay in Prince George hotels or with family and friends need to safely store their guns – either in a locked trunk or a lockable compartment.
If the vehicle doesn’t have a locking trunk, the guns must be placed under the back seat or covered with a blanket.
Prince George RCMP say you cannot store your firearm in your vehicle overnight and you must secure a locking device such a trigger lock or cable lock.
You must also store the ammunition separately from the firearm or in the same locked container as the firearm, if you are traveling with a locking gun case.
