RCMP release results of back-to-school speed enforcement blitz
PRINCE GEORGE — Mounties issued eight tickets and gave out an additional 12 warnings to drivers during their back-to-school speed zone campaign last week.
The zones were set up at Pineview and Peden Hill elementary schools.
“We really want to drive home the message that these are high-risk areas for students and we all need to slow down and keep a watch out for them”, states Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer for the Prince George RCMP.
Police officers and ICBC are also reminding drivers to make sure their cell phone is put away when they are driving, as your visual attention is reduced by half when you are distracted by a hand-held device.
