PRINCE GEORGE – The MLA for Nechako Lakes and former BC United Party member has a new feather in his cap.

Last March, John Rustad announced plans to run for the BC Conservative Party and, shortly afterward, became leader of the party.

And today, Abbotsford-South M-L-A and former Abbotsford mayor Bruce Banman issued a statement today saying he is proud to join B-C Conservative Leader John Rustad in the legislature. The B-C Conservatives are now officially recognized in the legislature as an official political party.

“So we’ve been going around the province really building the Conservative Party, British Columbia. It’s really been a grassroots movement. And we’re hearing from people across the province that they really are looking for a party that’s going to stand for what’s right,” says Rustad. “There’s no question that we have a lot of momentum in the party. We’re only whatever was the Main Street poll that came out. We’re only about eight points behind the NDP. You know, we do plan to be running down this weekend of next election where we are working hard by making sure that we connect with voters and giving them a viable option.”
