PRINCE GEORGE – Getting hands-on experiences is always one of the best ways to learn, and now, because of an 80 thousand dollar grant given to The Exploration Place from the Drax Foundation, it’s being made possible free of charge for Northern BC elementary, secondary, and post-secondary schools for the upcoming year.

Putting something like this together doesn’t happen overnight, but the benefit that comes from it is more than helpful.

“We would always offer free admissions and free programming if we possibly could afford to do it, but we can’t keep our doors open. So, by having these grants, this one in particular, we’re now able to bring kids in from all over Northern B.C. and let them see what we’ve got to offer.”

– Tracy Calogheros, CEO of Exploration Place

This grant gives The Exploration Place the opportunity to open its doors to people who might not have been able to otherwise come.

“So, it’s not as much about building us, it’s about building communities. This grant gives us a huge opportunity to develop our programs and deliver our programs. But, it’s also a huge opportunity for all schools in northern B.C., but particularly ones that wouldn’t normally be able to visit us like the inner city schools.”

– Robyn Curtis, VP of Developmental Partnership

Booking for the Exploration Place opens September 18th.
