15 million dollar investment to improve quality of life in First Nation communities

VICTORIA—Across B.C. First Nation communities will benefit from a $15 million investment from the province to the First Nation Well Being Fund.

This fund has been implemented by the First Nations Public Service Secretariat and hopes to support First Nation communities in their efforts to improve quality of life and promote well-being at the community and national level.

The call for applications is now open. First Nations and Tribal Councils can submit proposals to the First Nations Well Being Fund website. Successful applicants can receive a maximum of $100,000 per community-led project to improve the quality of life for its members or a maximum of $50,000 to support community engagement activities that promote well-being and reduce poverty at the community level. The deadline is December 31, 2023. Successful applicants will be announced in January 2024 and will receive the grants right away.
