Urban Coyote at large
PRINCE GEORGE- Four people were attacked by a coyote this morning in downtown Prince George between 3:45 a.m. and 4:30 a.m. The attack occurred in the Parkwood and Connaught Hill area with all of the individuals receiving non-life-threatening bite wounds. However, three of the victims are receiving medical attention.
Conservation Officers believe it was a lone coyote that attacked and have patrolled the area but did not observe any coyotes. They will stay in the area and continue to search for the individual offender. The Conservation Officers are working with the City of Prince George on public outreach, including signage and patrols. They have also communicated with shelter staff in the area, as the individuals who were attacked are experiencing homelessness.
The Conservation Officers are letting everyone know to take precautions in case of further coyote encounters. This includes, leashing pets, travelling in groups and keeping cats indoors. For additional safety tip visit WildSafeBC.com
