University Way repairs complete

PRINCE GEORGE— The 15 bus will have a quicker route again, as the Shane Creek Bridge deck resurfacing project is officially complete, with University Way opening back up to motorist today (September 27).

The project began on August 22 and included the replacement of the old bridge deck. However, further deficiencies were identified in the concrete sub-structure once work began. The new deck is expected to last at least 30 years.

During the closure crews fixed the imperfections in University Way. Jordan Wiseman, manager of road and fleets, says he’s really happy to have the project finished within the estimated timeline.

“With public safety in mind, it was important we got this work completed before winter, and we are glad to tick this project off as done. We like to get ahead of these things before they become unusable.”
