PRINCE GEORGE — BC’s winter driving regulations are now in effect.
Winter tires or chains are required on most highway routes throughout the province as of Sunday, October 1 to the following spring, on April 30.
Although, for some highways not located through mountain passes or high snowfall areas, the restrictions end March 31.
Drivers must use tires marked with either “M” plus “S” or a snowflake. Failure to use winter tires could result in a fine. The fine for a passenger vehicle caught without winter tires is $121.
