UNBC Timberwolves prepare for must win weekend against UBCO Heat
PRINCE GEORGE — Sports fans know the term “win and you’re in”. Although it’s not the exact phrase the UNBC Timberwolves will be playing for this weekend. They still need to win both games against the UBCO Heat to have a shot at extending their season.
It breaks down like this… The UNBC Timberwolves sit 5th in the Pacific Division Standings behind the TRU Wolfpack. With two wins against UBCO, it will put them even with TRU. However, a loss against UBCO or a TRU win against the MacEwan University Griffins eliminates the Timberwolves from the post-season. Players know they will need some help but look to execute on what they can control.
After starting the Season 1-5-1 the season looked like a lost hope. But a 2nd half turnaround which saw the very young Twolves team mature and go 3-2-1 has put them in a spot for extra soccer. With Head Coach Steve Simonson knowing the future is bright for this team
