PRINCE GEORGE — Another partnership was formed Thursday as the Lheidli T’enneh First Nation accepted a ‘Respectful Acknowledgement’ pledge from London Drugs Parkwood.

This is the second Respectful Acknowledgement pledge from a private sector business, the first being the new Save-On-Foods store at Pine Centre Mall. For Chief Dolleen Logan she is proud of the work that has been accomplished in forging partnerships with businesses and local organizations and that this “celebrates another positive step forward on the Road to Reconciliation.”

Clint Mahlman, President and COO of London Drugs gave the pledge to Chief Logan and said that they became aware of other acknowledgements and asked if they could do the same.

“Most recently, we’ve asked our store management to continue to build relationships in the community, to reach out to the indigenous community and their leaders to see how we can be more effective in our learning about local issues and things that are important to the local first nations that we do business with. And that’s how this came about.” – Clint Mahlman, President & COO, London Drugs

Chief Logan said that “the Respectful Acknowledgment plaque on display in the store is a sign that this store welcomes our members and all Indigenous shoppers.”

Mahlman says that this is a “small but important step forward on the Road to Reconciliation with the Lheidli T’enneh and all First Nations in our region.”
