Timberwolves men and women’s beat the visiting MacEwan Griffins

PRINCE GEORGE – The UNBC Timberwolves men and women’s basketball team welcomed the Macewan Griffins last night (Nov. 17).

The men secured a 97-66 victory. Six TWolves finished with double digit points while guard Justin Sunga matched a UNBC single-game record with 10 assists. It was the second time in the calendar year that he accomplished that feat, when he also snagged 10 assists on January 23rd against Mount Royal.

On the women’s side, the TWolves won 69-57. Fourth-year local product Rebecca Landry led the charge offensively for UNBC with a team-high 22 points along with four rebounds, three assists and three steals.

The teams will face each other again this evening (Nov 18) for a rematch at the Northern Sports Centre.
