Timberwolves men and women’s beat the visiting MacEwan Griffins

PRINCE GEORGE – The UNBC Timberwolves men and women’s basketball team welcomed the Macewan Griffins last night (Nov. 17).

The men secured a 97-66 victory. Six TWolves finished with double digit points while guard Justin Sunga matched a UNBC single-game record with 10 assists. It was the second time in the calendar year that he accomplished that feat, when he also snagged 10 assists on January 23^rd against Mount Royal.

On the women’s side, the TWolves won 69-57. Fourth-year local product Rebecca Landry led the charge offensively for UNBC with a team-high 22 points along with four rebounds, three assists and three steals.

The teams will face each other again this evening (Nov 18) for a rematch at the Northern Sports Centre.
