Hockey takes a dive with the UNBC TimberWhales

PRINCE GEORGE — You’ve obviously heard of the UNBC Timberwolves but have you heard of the UNBC TimberWhales?

It’s the hottest new club at the university as they teach interested students the sport of Underwater hockey. All of it began when biochemistry teacher Dr. Stephen Rader, who used to play the sport himself, pitched to his students to start a team up. Naomi Cole and Ella Stratton took on the task of starting the TimberWhales and now the club consistently gets students out to practice.

The students wanting to learn the sport meet on Monday night for practice at the Prince George Aquatic Centre and do drills and training.
