Update: Police incident on Upland Street wraps up with two arrests

PRINCE GEORGE — Update: RCMP say the incident has been resolved with two people arrested, though their names have not been released.

RCMP say those that were asked to leave their homes, can now return home safely.

“We want to reassure the public that this was an isolated incident with persons who are known to police. There is no increased risk to public safety as a result of this incident,” states Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer for the Prince George RCMP.

There were no reported injuries and the investigation is ongoing.

Earlier: There’s a heavy police presence at a home on the 2100-block of Upland Street Wednesday morning (Nov.22).

The Prince George RCMP say it’s due to an ongoing investigation in that neighbouhood.

Police say it’s an isolated incident with no current increased risk to the public but for the safety of the police and others, residents are asked to choose alternate routes to work and school.

People can expect officers to be in the area for an extended period of time.
