Fire Training in PG?
PRINCE GEORGE – Prince George Fire Rescue receives fire training, some of it’s at the airport, while much of it goes to Quesnel and sometimes as far afield as Texas. It’s why the city brought in a consultant to look at the feasibility of establishing a fire training center here, and it was found to be much needed.
“Yeah, Prince George is the Northern hub, so obviously we have a lot of industrial partners here in the region,” says Adam Davey, Director of Public Safety. “So it definitely is a well-suited location.”
The consultant’s report identified fire hall number three here on Highway 16 West as the ideal location for a fire center, predominantly because all the land behind it is City-owned.
