Omineca Arts Centre spotlights artist Lauren Aldred

PRINCE GEORGE— Omineca Arts Centre is hosting artist in residence Lauren Aldred for the month of December. Lauren is a poet, photographer and visual artist teaching land-based healing and wellness and art-for-wellness at the continuing education, undergraduate and graduate levels.
They will hold an opening reception on Friday, December 1 at 6:00 p.m. This followed by an artist talk with Lauren at 7:00 p.m. Light refreshments will be provided.
Then on Saturday December 9, 2023 Lauren will hold a free artist workshop. The beginner friendly event will have people make mouth-blown acrylic fantasy-flower paintings. You can register by emailing info@ominecaartscentre.com.
Lauren says her vibrant and full of colors artwork chronicles her relationship with the Land and the inherently healing effect of being connected to it. She expresses her profound gratitude for living on on the traditional, ancestral and unceded territory of Nakaz’dli Whetun.
