PRINCE GEORGE – Last week in Vancouver, a ceremony recognized 18 graduates, including the first Critical Care Paramedics trained outside of Metro Vancouver.

The three Advanced Care Paramedics furthered their training in Prince

George as part of the new BC Emergency Health Service initiative and are now Critical Care Paramedics, which means they have the highest level of paramedic training.

Two years ago, increased investment in station 580 at Prince George Airport prompted the program’s initiation, leading to the addition of two more airplanes and a helicopter.

According to BCEHS, Critical Care Paramedics work in specialized emergency patient care and transport for critically ill or injured patients across B.C.
