RCMP investigate rural shooting that left one injured
PRINCE GEORGE—One person is injured following a shooting that occurred at a residence on the 3200-block of Torpy Road. Officers responded to reports of gunfire shortly after 1:00 a.m. Friday morning.
“Police officers, including the Emergency Response Team, are currently at that location as we continue to collect evidence in this investigation. Our initial findings indicate this was likely a targeted event and there is no increased risk to the general public. If anyone in the neighbourhood witnessed the event or saw something suspicious we ask that they please contact the Prince George RCMP to speak with police,” states Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer for the Prince George RCMP.
The victim of the shooting was transported to the hospital for treatment of his serious but non-life threatening injuries.
