PRINCE GEORGE— It takes a lot of funding to host a high caliber event as the host needs to have a great deal of equipment for events to run smoothly.

Fortunately, for the Otway Nordic Ski Club every year they host the event they can upgrade their snow making systems to make the next event run even smoother and with the World Para-Nordic Finals and the Para Biathlon Championships beginning this March the snowmaking will be vital for the event to run.

Kevin Pettersen, Director of Competitions, explains that since the 2019 World Para Noridic Games they have been investing over 1.25 million dollars into their system with the help of the Province, Northern Development Initiative Trust, gaming grants, and a large donation from the Rick Bell Family.
