PRINCE GEORGE — One man was arrested early Sunday morning following an alleged break-and-enter.

Prince George RCMP say it all started shortly after 2 a.m. on Sunday, February 18, when a homeowner on the 5100-block of North Nechako Road told police that a rock had been thrown through a window of their home and that they could hear a man talking outside.

Police say while police officers were responding, a second report came in from the 3200-block of Riverview Road of an unknown man walking into a person’s home and leaving after asking the home owner to call 9-1-1.

Another call was received a short time later from a resident on the 3300-block of Rosia Road after they heard someone attempt to gain entry through their front door.

RCMP eventually caught up with the suspect at around 5:30 a.m. at a home on the 3500-block of Rosia Road, where he was sleeping on a couch at that home.

“Investigators are extending their thanks to the people who contacted police with information on the suspect’s whereabouts, several of whom could see him on their video surveillance passing through the area, as it ultimately assisted tracking him down,” says Cpl. Jennifer Cooper.

The suspected has since been released with a future court date. The suspect is known to police.
