Vipers topple visiting Spruce Kings

VERNON – The hometown Vernon Vipers knocked off the Prince George Spruce Kings 7-5 on Friday (March 1) in B.C. Hockey League action.

Kilian McGregor-Bennett notched two goals for Prince George in support of goaltender Ryan Sanborn, who stopped 23 shots in a losing effort.

The Spruce Kings are at the bottom of Interior Conference standings, with a record of 14-28-3-0.

Vernon (27-17-1-0) is fourth in the Interior Conference, sitting 16 points back of the conference-leading Penticton Vees (33-7-3-2).
