Spruce Kings fall to Centennials in Merritt

MERRITT – The hometown Merritt Centennials edged the visiting Prince George Spruce Kings 3-2 on Saturday (March 2) in B.C. Hockey League action at Nicola Valley Memorial Arena.

Kai Greaves and Kilian McGregor-Bennett scored for the Spruce Kings (14-29-3-0) in support of goaltender Charlie Zolin, who stopped 28 shots in a losing effort.

The Spruce Kings outshout the Centennials 34-31, but Luke Pfoh secured victory for the home team when he scored with one minute remaining in the third period.

Prince George, which sits last in Interior Conference standings, will square off against the hometown Trail Smoke Eaters on Friday (March 8) at Cominco Arena.
