Year-over-year unemployment rate rises slightly in Prince George in February
PRINCE GEORGE — The unemployment rate for Prince George in February came in at 6.7 per cent.
Statistics Canada says that’s up slightly from 6.6 per cent a year ago. The participation rate – the number of people actively engaged in the workforce – rose two-and-a-half points over the same time period to 66.4%.
Provincially the unemployment rate was 5.2 per cent and federally it was 5.8 per cent, up from 5.7 per cent a month earlier. The Canadian economy as a whole added 41,000 jobs last month.
