Man with a concealed firearm arrested following a crash on Highway 16
PRINCE GEORGE—On Sunday, March 10, 2024 RCMP was called to the intersection of Highway 16 and Davis Road after reports of a rollover crash involving a single vehicle that occurred around 7:00 p.m.
Witnesses reported the driver left the crashed vehicle and walked away holding a firearm.
“Police officers attended the location and located 29- year-old Prince George resident, Dezmon Owens, a short distance away. A firearm was found on Mr. Owens, who was determined to be in breach of several police- and court-imposed conditions, ” states Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer for the Prince George RCMP.
Owens has been arrested on 9 charges including driving while prohibited, unauthorized possession of a firearm and possessing the firearm in a vehicle, concealed carry, three counts of breaching a probation order, and failure to comply with undertaking.
