PRINCE GEORGE—Cooper Williams, from Pinckney, Michigan, has committed to the Prince George Spruce Kings for 2024/25 BCHL season.

Cooper has spent this 2024/25 season with the Compuware U16 AAA program.

“I am very excited for this opportunity,” said Williams. “Talking with Alex (Evin) and the entire organization, I feel the Spruce Kings is a place I can grow as a player and a person.”

The 16-year-old winger has had an outstanding season recording 38 goals and 60 points in 56 games.

“Cooper is a very hard-working skilled forward with great offensive instincts,” said General Manager of the Spruce Kings, Mike Hawes. “Our fans will appreciate the way this young man plays the game. I’m extremely excited that we are adding Cooper and his family to our program.”

While a smaller player standing at 5’9″, weighing 154 lbs, Cooper says his frame leads to an advantage in his games.

“I am a smaller player, but I love to go into the dirty areas along the boards and get into the corners,” said Williams. “I also like to pop a few goals into the net.”

Cooper is already committed to play NCAA Division 1 hockey at Lake Superior State University, following in his brother Tyler William’s (’00) footsteps.

“Cooper is a very talented, hard-working player who plays with an edge,” said Spruce Kings head coach, Alex Evin. “He and his family are very familiar with the BCHL/NCAA pathway, and we are very excited to add this young prospect to our team and help him with his development.”

The Kings are excited to welcome Cooper Williams to Prince George.
