Meet Mocha: the magnificent mare of your dreams

PRINCE GEORGE— Mocha is a 12 year old quarter-horse mix who’s currently staying at the PG animal rescue until she gets adopted. Mocha is a gentle friendly horse with personality to spare.

“Adults might spook her more, but small children, she just gravitates to and loves them,” says Nicola Redpath, owner and operator at the PG Animal Rescue. “Her past owner and just a little boy and he could do anything with her and she’s just so sweet. It’s like they understand, you know, when it’s somebody that they need to be gentle with.”

Mocha is not the most experienced at riding as she wasn’t taught by her previous owner. However, the rescue has been on ten rides and now it’s just a matter of practice.

“We want her to have that future as a riding horse, not just as a companion,” continues Redpath. “Of course, she’s safe every other way, but for the the riding part, it takes a lot more training.”
