Spruce Kings knock off Vipers in overtime

VERNON — Skogen Schrott tallied in overtime to lift his Prince George Spruce Kings to a 6-5 win over the hometown Vernon Vipers on Friday (March 29) in B.C. Hockey League action at Kal Tire Place.

Owen Goodbrand (2), Linden Makow, Luca Primerano and Kazumo Sasaki also scored for the Spruce Kings in support of goaltender Charlie Zolin, who stopped 22 shots to pick up the win between the pipes.

Prince George (16-34-3-0) is last in Interior Conference standings and will wrap its regular-season schedule against the Centennials (21-26-5-1) on Saturday (March 30) in Merritt.

Vernon dropped to 32-19-2-0 on the campaign.
