Final community open houses for OCP coming up

Apr 3, 2024 | 10:49 AM

PRINCE GEORGE — Next week’s your last chance to have your say on the City of Prince George’s Official Community Plan (OCP).

Two open houses will take place from 4:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday (April 9) and Wednesday (April 10) at the House of Ancestors located at 355 Vancouver Street.

An OCP communicates a community’s vision, goals and objectives and outlines long-term development plans.

The new OCP will guide growth and development through to the year 2050.

“These final open house sessions will delve into the OCP details at a more granular level than previous events,” stated Kali Holahan, Supervisor of Land Use Planning. “I encourage those who attended the initial open house last October to rejoin the conversation at the April 9 or 10 events to learn more about our progress and to offer your perspective for the drafting of OCP policy.”

Following months of visioning and engagement, drafting of the OCP has already begun and will continue until August. Final OCP review and approval are expected by the end of the year.
