Ravensbergen, Cougars blank Rockets at sold-out CN Centre

PRINCE GEORGE — Make it 15 straight victories for the Prince George Cougars and a second consecutive WHL post-season shutout for 17-year-old goaltender Joshua Ravensbergen.

The Cougars blanked the Kelowna Rockets 5-0 on Saturday (April 13) at sold-out CN Centre to take a 2-0 lead in the best-of-seven Western Conference semifinal series.

Prince George outshout Kelowna 44-16 and got goals from five different players — Riley Heidt, Viliam Kmec, Zac Funk, Borya Valis and Oren Shtrom — in the blowout victory.

Jari Kykkanen was between the pipes for the Rockets and stopped 39 shots in a losing effort.
