Chestnut fire under investigation

PRINCE GEORGE – An investigation into a fire on Chestnut Drive is underway.

Fire crews responded at 10:30 in the evening to an active monitored alarm at a residence in the 4000 block of Chestnut Drive.

Once they arrived, crews found smoke and flames coming from a single-family dwelling.

Crews from three fire halls worked for three hours to extinguish the fire. One occupant of the residence was fatally injured in this fire. Property loss due to fire is estimated to be $250,000.
