Prince George gymnast set to compete at 2024 Western Canadian Championships

PRINCE GEORGE — 14-year-old Marissa Hawkes is putting the final touches on her routines before she takes off to Langley to compete in the 2024 Western Canadian Artistic Gymnastics Championships. She plans to compete in four events. Floor, Vault, Bars & Beam

She’ll be the first female Prince George Gymnastics Club athlete to head to Westerns since 2019. Coach Jenn Watt knows Marissa has earned this opportunity to compete with Team BC.

The events can be high-stakes situations for young gymnasts. As a result, the club puts them through different scenarios to prepare athletes for pressure situations on competition day.
