PRINCE GEORGE— The province has begun inviting people to participate in their Spring Covid-19 booster program as a way to reduce spread of the illness. While it is available to anyone 6 months and older who hasn’t received a vaccine in the last six month; the invitations will only be sent to the most vulnerable populations.

“This spring booster campaign is the same, strain of the booster vaccines that were available in the fall,” explains Curt Fowkes, a pharmacist at Pheonix Pharmacy, Third Ave Pharmacy, and Hart Drugs. “So, if you did miss out on the fall, now is actually an opportunity where you could get that version as well.”

Those who will receive the intervention will be people over the age of 65, any indigenous elders over 55 years old, residents of long-term care homes and assisted-living facilities, and individuals diagnosed as clinically extremely vulnerable.

Vaccines will be available at your local health centre, nursing station, and pharmacies.

“You can pop by any of our locations to get one,” says Curt Fowkes “It’s always best if you book an appointment online using the Get Vaccinated system but we can probably handle a few walk-ins too if you can’t navigate the system very well.”
